Realtek’s PCI-Express Gigabit Ethernet Single Chip Controller (RTL8111GR-CG) Wins ‘EDN China Innovation Award 2012’

The RTL8111GR-CG supports Realtek’s RealWoW! Wide Area Network (WAN) remote wake-up function. This allows the RTL8111GR-CG to send keep-alive packets to an internet Wake Server when the PC is in sleeping mode. PCs can reduce power consumption by remaining in low power sleeping state until needed.
When users require access to files, music, programs, etc. on the remote computer, they can login into the Wake Server via the internet and wake the selected sleeping PC. Once connected, the user can execute any third-party remote control software. RealWoW! features the ability to pass wake-up packets through a NAT (Network Address Translation) device, commonly used in home routers. 

The RTL8111GR-CG supports the latest power optimizer requests from Intel, Latency Tolerance Reporting (LTR) and Optimized Buffer Flush/Fill (OBFF), to permit the whole system to quickly enter a low power consumption state.
